The Fogartyville Songwriters Series is a new showcase opportunity to highlight some of the region’s best songwriting talent. It will run the 2nd Monday of every month , starting in September and running through May 2025. Musicians and music fans are invited to gather to hear a trio of songwriters in the round playing their craft and describing their songwriting experience. We love the songwriter round format because it facilitates a deeper connection between the individuals sharing the stage, and encourages storytelling and spontaneous collaboration. The September event will be hosted by Dean Johanesen.
Johanesen is in the midst of recording a follow up EP to his Cautionary Tales release of 2023. Dean toured up to TN in January and April to begin work on his next record at The Owl Studio in Nashville.
The January session included some extremely talented Nashville players:
Producer and bassist Shawn Byrne of Great Hill Production.
Joe Spivey - Violin ( John Anderson’s Seminole Wind and member of the Time Jumpers,)
Pete Finney - Steel Guitar (Mike Nesmith of the Monkees and Patty Loveless,)
John McTigue III - Drums - (Emmylou Harris, Hank Williams III, Raul Malo of the Mavericks etc.) .
Josh Plummer is a singer/songwriter based out of Tampa/St.Pete, FL. He writes from personal experience and shares stories of love, loss, introspection, and heartbreak. His songwriting and lyrical influences include Ray LaMontagne, Dave Matthews, Nathaniel Rateliff, Noah Gundersen, Matthew Mayfield, Ruston Kelly, Ryan Adams, and Gregory Alan Isakov. Josh now has 3 EPs available on all streaming platforms, "Before You Dig" (2020), "The Stake" (2021), and "Wrong Side of Sunrise" (2022).
Lesa Silvermore is a high-energy and passionate singer/songwriter drenched in rock n’ roll from Southwest, Florida. The stage is her home with roots in theater, over years, she built a fanbase with intimate solo-acoustic sets and powerful full-band performances.
Silvermore’s signature style captivates audiences with quick tempo changes, catchy hooks and groovy riffs. Her music is a sweet fusion of indie rock, blues, punk, folk, and classic rock. Silvermore and her band released their first album, Doppelganger, in 2017. After a hiatus and time spent away from music due to the global pandemic, she released a more indie-rock/psychedelic single in October 2023 and is currently recording with her full band. Silvermore and her band have shared bills with acclaimed artists such as Emmy-nominated musician Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness and Canadian singer/songwriter, Alexz Johnson of CTV’s "Instant Star”.
